Efflorescence-Grip- Con-Luz by Ginger Q and Jaklin Romine sets the stage for a query. This installation confronts the perception of reality – here, delicate fabrics with varied opacities float from metallic structures that frame suspended neon light.

The depiction of hands grasping flowers are question once learning that the imagery is performative. Shown is Romine's minimally functioning hand positioned to seem as if she has the ability to hold flowers, creating the illusion of grip while knowing that everything can so easily slip through her fingers at any time. Just like the action of a flower blooming, we see  the efflorescence effect through the symbolism of clinch clinch. *

Similar to our grasp of reality, we cling to the illusion of what we want to view as "truth”. A concept coming from both artists ties to photography and the construction behind a photograph. In this installation , the artist break the mirage of the image by showing that build behind the straightforward frame. This this is shown with the wiring and the hanging system supporting the neon lights encased between the structure. Viewers are lured into radical territory with light and asked to consider the multiplicity behind initial perception.
